Merciful

Merciful is the “word of the day” for my whiteboard so I figured I’d use that as the title. Sarah M from church sent me a podcast last week when I was really struggling emotionally and physically leading up to surgery and the lady spent lots of time in the hospital and when she couldn’t read she started putting one word on her whiteboard to meditate on throughout the day. It not only helped her, but gave her more opportunities to share the love and hope of Jesus with those that came in her room. I loved the idea and so I have adopted it. I also added some verses too…part of the verses is “rescued my eyes from tears” (Psalm 116:8-9 is what is written out)…not only does God put our tears in a bottle but he rescues our eyes from them! He is so merciful!

A couple of things—I think I’m having a reaction to one of the meds they are giving me—Vancomyacin…it’s kind of known for reactions but my arms and hands are red and my fingers are a little swollen and my ears have been being funny and I had some tinnitus last night so the pulmonary PA already stopped by this morning and said they would talk about stopping that one. Still no finalized culture results, but she also said probably aiming for tomorrow or Monday to go home but most likely Monday as long as I can be on something that will fight the bacteria decently. 💖

I was able to go on 2 short hallway walks so far and I changed clothes today and it’s amazing how much better that makes you feel. Oh! I also was able to get on the lowest setting of my normal breathing machine so that’s helping too and I’m off Oxy and just on Tylenol for pain so making some good big steps in the right direction. I’m still bleeding a tiny bit, but it’s much less—the coughing and breathing treatments make it a little harder for that to stop. I’m still dipping below 90 on oxygen when I’m sleeping (my nurse had to wake me up and watch me a little closer last night) so definitely keep praying for that too! My honey just got here to spend the day with me so I’m gonna go hang out with him. Thanks for all the continued prayers!
