On to the 2nd Dose

I made it through the first dose and had a little itching but it wasn’t bad. It’s interesting cause it’s almost like I can feel the meds messing with the infection. I’m coughing up a lot more and having more pain and exhaustion. It’s the beginning of the “get worse before we get better phase”. I was able to grab a catnap in between consults with Neurology and Psych and a handful of their young students—anytime something is rare I get to chat with students. It’s fun because they are always eager to learn and excited to see something so rare. I remember as a kid during one hospitalization an entire class of around 30 students looked in my ears because of all my surgeries and how abnormal they look. I’ve had Respiratory Therapy (RT) and nursing students practice assessments on me. I just saw ENT and got scoped and they are sending the video to the sinus ENT here and will review my CT scan together and if they can do the surgery while I’m inpatient it will be next Wednesday. They are going to put their heads together and let me know. I’m so thankful for the team approach and for Dr Solomon leading the charge—he’s not just a great doctor technically speaking but his bedside manner and approach is truly second to none. He was absolutely worth moving across the country for—UAB is simply amazing and S6 is definitely my home away from home! So thankful!

“Therefore we do not lose heart. Though our outward man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For our momentary, light affliction is working out for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things that are not seen are eternal.” 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Below are pics of rest time and then some spring pictures from my backyard yesterday and on my walk with Blue and Mom. 🥰
